You are going to sell this meal in the school canteen once it has been made.  Your food technology teacher says you should charge an extra 20% VAT for each ingredient in your shopping list.

Task-Most pupils-Changing variables and predictions (PLTS Independent enquirers, Self managers)

The price of your main ingredient has increased in by £1.50. Write below your spreadsheet your prediction of what will happen to the total cost of your shopping list when this ingredient is changed. Now test your prediction and write your results.


A Grade

Task-Gifted and Talented (PLTS Independent enquirers, Self managers)

It is assumed the meal will feed 4 people.  If the meal costs less than £20 it is O.K.  However if it costs more than £20 it is expensive.  Create an If function to show this.

Homework-Write a list of all the main meals you eat between now and your next ICT lesson.

Your food technology teacher has decided the whole meal Price + VAT should cost £20. Use goal seek to change the the Price plus VAT to £20 by changing the cost of your most expensive ingredient.  Add this information to your spreadsheet.
