Mind Map-Health meals Discuss answers as a class. 

Keyword spelling- How good is your spelling? What letter is missing to spell the keyword correctly. 

Pupils should use keywords in their answers. (Red, Amber, Green cards)

C Grade

Task-All pupils (PLTS Independent Enquirers, Creative Thinkers, Self managers)

Create a spreadsheet containing the prices of the ingredients.

• Research the prices using a supermarket website. e.g. Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's etc
• The spreadsheet must have formulas to calculate the total cost of the meal .
• Add borders and shading to your spreadsheet.

C Grade

Task-All pupils-Absolute cell reference (PLTS Independent enquirers, Self managers)

You are going to sell this meal in the school canteen once it has been made.  Your food technology teacher says you should charge an extra 20% VAT for each ingredient in your shopping list.

C Grade

Task-Most pupils-Changing variables and predictions (PLTS Independent enquirers, Self managers)

The price of your main ingredient has increased in by £1.50. Write below your spreadsheet your prediction of what will happen to the total cost of your shopping list when this ingredient is changed. Now test your prediction and write your results.

A Grade

Task-Gifted and Talented (PLTS Independent enquirers, Self managers)

It is assumed the meal will feed 4 people.  If the meal costs less than £20 it is O.K.  However if it costs more than £20 it is expensive.  Create an If function to show this.

Homework-Write a list of all the main meals you eat between now and your next ICT lesson.

Introduce homework (on ICT webpage and SharePoint)

Mind Map-Pupil Meals Pupils will add the keywords (above) to their meals to show what the meals contain.  Discuss answers as a class.  Recap of last lesson.

Questions to consider:-

• Which of the meals are healthy/unhealthy?
• What is the cost of obesity on the individual/society?

Questions to consider:-

• You started to create a spreadsheet last lesson.  What kind of jobs use spreadsheets in the real world?
• Can you think of any occasions businesses would change variables, use goals seek or IF functions?

Use your pupil progress booklets to help you decide if you should attempt the tasks

B Grade

Task-Some Pupils

Your food technology teacher has decided the whole meal Price + VAT should cost £20. Use goal seek to change the the Price plus VAT to £20 by changing the cost of your most expensive ingredient.  Add this information to your spreadsheet.
